Leclerc and Verstappen are the only ones on track for now. The direct comparison between Charles Leclerc’s Ferrari SF26 and Max Verstappen’s Red Bull RB22 could have enlivened this second day of testing in Barcelona, but the rain forecast for the afternoon arrived early, forcing the two 1997-born drivers to remain in the pits after the first laps. Leclerc then took to the track again with full wet tyres. Leclerc is credited with an unofficial 1’20″844, while Max Verstappen was the protagonist of a brief excursion off the track in Turn-5 without consequences for the RB22 which then returned to the track shortly afterwards. For now, Ferrari and Red Bull are the only ones to have taken to the track on this second day of testing, we’ll see if the weather will allow the teams to accumulate further km after the excellent start yesterday for most of the teams that took part in the first day of testing (only Audi had some significant problems that kept the R26 in the pits all afternoon).
