F1 test, Mercedes remains in front The fourth morning of shakedown at Montmeló has ended, and the hierarchies have not changed. After having led the standings on day 3, Mercedes confirmed their position in first place, with a still lively Kimi Antonelli. The Bolognese would have shaved three tenths off yesterday’s time and would have gotten closer to 1:16 (1:17.081). As with the other days, it must be underlined that these are not official times, and therefore the conditional is a must. The excellent data remains of a Mercedes W17 which continued its work program without the slightest hitch: Antonelli’s run was clean, in a morning which also did not offer any red flags. The Bolognese would have preceded Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari by 1.6 seconds: for the seven-time world champion there was also a spin without consequences when leaving La Caixa. The Briton would have been overtaken at the last minute by Oscar Piastri by two tenths. It would confirm a logical uphill start for Cadillac, with Sergio Perez three seconds behind the penultimate position, occupied by Liam Lawson. The team managed by Adrian Newey suffered a slight delay in development and preferred to debut on the track a few days later than the competition. It should take to the track with a black livery, as the livery has not yet been presented.
