Automotive Industry Association (OSD) announced the data for January 2026. Total production decreased by 5 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 99 thousand 247 units. Automobile production, which decreased by 17 percent compared to the same month last year, reached 55 thousand 504 units. Total production, including tractor production, was 100 thousand 864 units. In the commercial vehicle group, production increased by 16 percent in January, in the heavy commercial vehicle group by 47 percent, and in the light commercial vehicle group by 14 percent. Compared to January 2025, the commercial vehicle market grew by 14 percent, the heavy commercial vehicle market by 23 percent, and the light commercial vehicle market by 13 percent. In the first month of the year, total automotive exports decreased by 17 percent in terms of units and automobile exports decreased by 28 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. During this period, total exports were 64 thousand 725 units and automobile exports were 34 thousand 250 units. In January 2026, the total market closed at 77 thousand 590 units, increasing by 10 percent compared to the same period last year. During this period, the automobile market increased by 9 percent and reached 61 thousand 55 units.

During this period, production grew by 47 percent in the heavy commercial vehicle group and 14 percent in the light commercial vehicle group. During this period, the capacity utilization rate of the automotive industry was 56 percent. Capacity utilization rates on a vehicle group basis were 57 percent in light vehicles (cars + light commercial vehicles), 44 percent in the truck group, 63 percent in the bus-midibus group and 26 percent in the tractor.
