Audi signs patent licensing agreement with Oppo

Çok Okunanlar

Today, Oppo Chief Product Officer Pete Lau has announced that his company has reached a global licensing agreement with audi.

This means audi can now use Oppo’s patents covering essential 5G technology. As Lau states in his post on X announcing the agreement, this will “bring together wireless innovation and automotive excellence, enhancing connectivity for a smarter driving experience”.

Such licensing agreements for essential patents are very common, and before you read too much into this – this does not mean Oppo and audi are teaming up to develop anything together in any shape or form.

All it means is that audi will now pay Oppo for its essential 5G patents, and as a consequence, audi can use Oppo’s patented technology in its cars.
