CHERY continues its growth in the UK market with its investments in hybrid technology. According to June 2026 registration data, 75 percent of the brand’s sales in the UK were models with CHERY Super Hybrid (CSH) technology. 2,861 of the total sales recorded during the month came from vehicles with the CSH powertrain system.
The rise of plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models in the UK automotive market continues. In June, PHEV sales increased by 24.9 percent compared to the same period last year, reaching 26 thousand 702 units, while this segment took a 12.5 percent share of the total market. In the first six months of the year, PHEV sales increased by 38.4 percent to 148 thousand 132 units.

CHERY responds to this growing demand by offering Super Hybrid technology in different models. The CSH system offers fully electric driving for short distances and eliminates range anxiety with its highly efficient gasoline engine on long journeys; It is used in TIGGO 7, TIGGO 8 and TIGGO 9 models. TIGGO 4 CSH, the latest addition to the brand’s product range, completes CHERY’s hybrid family with its full hybrid technology offered as standard.
TIGGO 8, the brand’s most preferred model in June, also managed to become the UK’s best-selling 7-seat SUV model. The model achieved a significant sales success, leaving behind vehicles in the similar segment of well-established rival brands.
The UK automobile market grew by 11.4 percent in June compared to the same period last year, reaching a sales volume of 213 thousand 166 units. While CHERY gained 1.8 percent market share in this period, it increased its total sales in the first half of the year to 17 thousand 979 units.
CHERY UK General Manager Farrell Hsu, in his evaluation at the SMMT International Automotive Summit held in London, stated that the intense interest the TIGGO model family has received from British consumers shows that the brand is following the right product strategy. Hsu stated that they entered the UK market with ambitious targets and that the country will become one of the strategic markets in the global growth of the CHERY Group.
Successful performance in the UK also supports the global growth of the CHERY Group. While the Group sold 256 thousand 612 vehicles worldwide in June 2026, 113 thousand 583 of these were new energy vehicles. As of the end of June, the number of global users of the brand reached 19.88 million.
CHERY Group exported 943 thousand 817 vehicles in the first six months of the year, recording a growth of 71.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. Thus, it became the brand that achieved the highest international deliveries among Chinese automobile manufacturers in the six-month period.
The company continues to expand its global production network. The new production facility established in Rosslyn, South Africa is planned to be operational at full capacity in mid-2027. The factory, which will have a production capacity of 50 thousand vehicles per shift, is aimed to employ approximately 3 thousand people and reach a 40 percent domestic production rate by 2028. With this investment, CHERY will commission a new production center that will support its global growth.
