Geopolitical Risks and New Trade Balances Will Be Discussed at the TAYSAD Conference

At a time when the balances in global trade are being reshaped, the future of the automotive supply industry will be discussed at an important conference to be held in Istanbul. At TAYSAD’s 5th Supply Chain Conference, the effects of wars, cost pressures and changing trade policies on the sector will be evaluated.
Vehicle Supply Manufacturers Association (TAYSAD) brings global developments that directly affect the future of the automotive industry to its agenda. The 5th Supply Chain Conference, which will be held with the theme “Global Regulations, Local Strategies”, will bring together the leading representatives of the sector on June 18, 2026.
At the event to be held in Istanbul, the effects of geopolitical risks on automotive production, the transformation in raw materials and logistics processes, cost management, sustainability and new competitive conditions in global trade will be comprehensively evaluated.
“New Risks Emerge in Supply Chains”
TAYSAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Yakup Biri said that recent global developments should be followed carefully in terms of the automotive supply industry.
Stating that regional conflicts and geopolitical uncertainties create new risk areas in supply chains, Birinci pointed out that many topics, from energy costs to logistics processes, from raw material supply to production planning, are affected by these developments.
Emphasizing that the sector may face longer-term cost pressures if the war environment is prolonged, Birinci stated that the automotive industry should be prepared for changing conditions.
Digitalization and Efficiency are Essential for Competition
Stating that the rising protectionism policies on a global scale and the strategies of restructuring Europe’s supply chains have started a new era in the sector, Birinci said that the way to maintain competitiveness is through efficiency.
Stating that cost management, automation, digital transformation and artificial intelligence-supported production processes have become a necessity rather than a choice, Birinci noted that solution suggestions for the future of the sector will also be discussed at the conference.
Important Names of the Industry Will Speak
The opening speeches of the conference will be made by TAYSAD Board Members Tülay Hacıoğlu Şengül and Reha Gür.
Within the scope of the event, economist Bader Arslan will evaluate the effects of global economic developments on the Turkish automotive supply industry. While Toyota Automotive Industry Türkiye Deputy General Manager Mustafa Cem Kulu will discuss the issue of cost management, Toyotetsu OHS Manager Bahadır Gültekin will make a presentation on sustainability and supplier audits.
Ünsped Deputy General Manager Dr. Faruk Şen will evaluate the effects of the European Union’s expanding network of free trade agreements on Türkiye and its cost management dimension.
The New Era in Automotive Will Be Discussed
The future of the sector will be discussed in the panel “Protectionism or Transformation? Automotive on the New Axis of Global Trade”, which is one of the most striking parts of the conference.
TAYSAD Chairman of the Board of Directors Yakup Biri, as well as OİB Chairman of the Board Kemal Yazıcı and OSD Chairman of the Board of Directors Cengiz Eroldu will attend the panel.
In the second half of the day, AGV technologies for the use of autonomous systems in domestic logistics will also be discussed. The event will end with a special interview with Yılmaz Vural as a guest, following the technical sessions.
The conference, which will bring together the leading stakeholders of the automotive supply industry, is expected to provide important outputs regarding the industry’s adaptation process to changing global conditions.
