Now it’s all true
If the 2026 Formula 1 season will begin without major news regarding the debuts of new drivers (with the sole exception of Arvid Lindblad in Racing Bulls), this cannot be said at all for the teams; in addition to Audi’s entry into the Circus, with the German company having acquired Sauber and will participate in the upcoming world championship powered by its engines, the other great new entry will be the Cadillac. For the American team driven by the Ferrari power unit, the dream and goal of entering the world of F1 has finally come true thanks to the perseverance of the Andretti family, starting with Mario ‘Piedone’ Andretti, with the first Cadillac in history that will bear his name.
At Albert Park to “write the history of Cadillac”
Everything is ready for the big debut in Australiawith the team that will be able to count on the experience of two drivers returning to F1 after 2025 spent off the starting grid. One of them is Finnish Valtteri Bottasthird driver for Mercedes last year and winner of 10 GPs in his career: “This year’s Australian Grand Prix is a unique experience – he commented – I always love coming to Melbourne, but this time, arriving to make history with the Cadillac Formula 1 Teamit’s even more special. The local support from Australians will make this weekend even more unforgettable. I am very proud of the team’s hard work during pre-season preparation and in the many, many months leading up to this weekend. This is just the beginning of our journey together, but we are already making progress and I can’t wait to race.”
Great emotion also for the Mexican Sergio Perezalso absent from the starting grid in 2025 and winner of six races in his F1 experience, five of which with Red Bull: “It’s an honor to be in Australia this weekend, making history with the Cadillac Formula 1 Team. Being part of this amazing brand new team has been one of the best moments of my career so far. The atmosphere in the team is positive and we are making progress together. We should be proud of what we have achieved so far. I can’t wait to get on the track.”
