Auburn Hills, Mich. – February 5, 2026 – Maserati today celebrates a significant milestone as the GranTurismo coupe and GranCabrio convertible have been named 2026 Car and Driver Editors’ Choice Honorees in the Luxury Sports Car segment. Regarded as the automotive industry’s “honor roll,” this accolade from one of the world’s most respected automotive publications underscores the enduring excellence of the Trident brand.
Car and Driver’s annual Editors’ Choice list recognizes vehicles that rise above their peers through rigorous evaluation, including instrumented testing and real-world driving experiences. Editors consider performance, features, value, and driving enjoyment, helping buyers identify standout vehicles in a crowded marketplace.
The 2026 Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio exemplify the brand’s signature blend of sports car performance and refined grand touring comfort. Designed and engineered in Italy, these vehicles showcase Maserati’s approach to luxury, craftsmanship, and exhilarating performance. The Trofeo variants feature the in-house twin-turbo Nettuno V6 engine with Formula 1-derived pre-chamber combustion technology, delivering a driving experience that is both thrilling and distinctive. A newly standard Sports Exhaust amplifies the Trident’s unique sound, further highlighting the Nettuno V6’s sonorous character.

Maserati also celebrates the GranTurismo and GranCabrio through its Fuoriserie Program with two one-off creations: the GranTurismo Meccanica Lirica One-Off and GranCabrio Meccanica Lirica One-Off. Inspired by Modena’s heritage—where mechanical precision and opera coexist—these bespoke vehicles feature exclusive exterior colors, including Rosso Velluto and Oro Lirico, one-of-a-kind interior finishes, and unique design accents commemorating the return of GranTurismo and GranCabrio production to Maserati’s historic Modena factory.
“Maserati has a rich legacy of creating stunning and sought-after grand tourers,” said Andrea Soriani, Head of Maserati Americas. “The latest GranTurismo and GranCabrio embody the brand’s trademark Italian style, thrilling performance, and timeless sophistication. We are honored to see them recognized by Car and Driver, one of the industry’s most influential voices.”
With a heritage tracing back to the original Maserati A6 1500 grand tourer, the GranTurismo and GranCabrio continue to exemplify Italian flair, blending Maserati’s storied past with a confident vision for the brand’s future.
