First km for the house of the Four Circles Audi took to the track yesterday in Barcelona with the R26 for the first filming day of 2026. The German house led by former Ferrari Mattia Binotto debuts in F1 this season after having progressively taken over the shares of Sauber. Audi, together with Red Bull Powertrains, is the engine manufacturer making its debut in conjunction with this new regulatory cycle and yesterday’s appointment was crucial to see the power unit in action which has currently been tested on the dyno. The house of the Four Circles has published a gallery of images on Instagram and the car is always immortalized in the pit lane or stopped in the lay-by. The black and white shot from a rear view allows you to appreciate the shapes of the new rear wing which is also the protagonist of another closer image. The ‘full-length’ shot of the car does not allow us to go beyond the silhouette of the R26 which was characterized by a completely black livery with the exception of the logo (the Four Circles) on the rear wing. According to what was reported by the German newspaper Auto Motor und Sport, it was Nico Hulkenberg who had the honor of naming the new Audi. The objective of yesterday was simply to verify the correct functioning of the car, The-Race.com underlined that the setting of the power unit was of a conservative nature to guarantee the team to cover kilometres, closer to the season the definitive version will be homologated in which it will push itself to the maximum in terms of performance.
