YEO Technology, Türkiye’s global player in the field of renewable energy and energy technologies, has made a strategic move in the field of energy storage solutions, which are seen as the future of the sector. YEO Technology celebrated the start of production of its 100% subsidiary Reap Battery with its employees in its factory in Tuzla, Istanbul. An official opening is planned to be held soon with the participation of industry leaders and public representatives.
Energy technologies base
YEO Technology, which will produce energy storage systems with an annual capacity of 5 GWh at the Reap Battery facility, will export to the whole world from Istanbul. The Reap Battery facility will operate as an integrated technology base where automation, digital energy management, IoT applications and R&D activities will be carried out together, as well as energy storage. Reap Battery will bring together different components of the energy technologies ecosystem under the same roof in Istanbul.
Reap Battery’s factory in Tuzla was realized as the concrete result of 21 years of experience and a strategic journey extending to global goals. This production base, which opens to the world from Istanbul, will bring the high value-added energy technologies produced by YEO Technology with the “We Think It’s Possible” approach to the global market.
Regional production center
The Reap Battery factory, which will produce energy storage systems with a capacity of 5 GWh per year, will be positioned as an export-oriented production base for the USA, Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia and Africa, as well as the needs of the Turkish market.
The facility will operate as a center covering the design, production and integration processes for renewable energy power plants and energy storage systems suitable for electricity grids, commercial, industrial and residential batteries and special energy storage solutions for mobility applications. Reap Battery factory; With its robot-assisted production lines equipped with advanced technology, lithium-ion battery packaging, system integration and quality-test infrastructure, it will ensure that energy storage systems are delivered to customers with high safety, long life and strong performance. The facility will be the source of project-based and need-oriented innovative solutions, in line with YEO Technology’s engineering and EPC experience.
Uninterrupted green energy
Stating that the Reap Battery factory constitutes an important step of YEO’s long-term strategy in the field of energy storage, YEO Technology CEO Tolunay Yıldız explained his goals as follows: “The Reap Battery factory has become one of the most valuable fruits of the global vision reached by YEO Technology. The factory will provide services for high-capacity BESS solutions, systems for solar energy and grid integration, to meet the storage needs of renewable energy plants. Our goal is to make Türkiye a regional production and engineering center in energy storage technologies. YEO Technology’s domestic “And the wind, hydroelectric and solar energy, grid modernization and energy storage projects it carries out abroad will be directly integrated into the factory’s production schedule.”
A wide range of battery solutions will be offered at the factory, from large grid-scale storage systems to the commercial and industrial segment. These batteries, which will work integrated with YEO Technology’s artificial intelligence and IoT-supported digital energy solutions, battery and energy management systems, will maximize efficiency.
