Opel releases images of the new Corsa GSE with a sporty camouflage wrap, blending classic and modern design to preview this high-performance hot hatch.
Opel has released official images of the new Corsa GSE wearing a sporty camouflage wrap. According to the automaker’s press office, this body wrap isn’t just practical camouflage—it’s a modern tribute to the sporty versions of the Corsa A from the 1980s.Andreas Kubis, the technical lead for confidentiality and camouflage of Opel prototypes and pre-production vehicles, explained that the camouflage for the new Corsa GSE blends classic design with a contemporary look, reflecting the spirit of their GSE models.www.media.stellantis.comThe prototype protection specialist noted that while the main goal of camouflage is to prevent premature disclosure of a future model’s details, with the Corsa GSE it was clear this ‘disguise’ needed to convey a message. The sporty design, featuring black, white, and yellow accents, aims to generate excitement for this hot hatch while paying homage to Opel’s motorsport heritage. At Opel, the GSE acronym stands for goosebumps, speed, and electric emotions. The new Corsa GSE has been developed to embody all three, not just in its final production form but from the very first glance as a prototype.Andreas Kubis and his team put significant effort into the design. Even the matte-black body color accentuates the car’s dynamic character. Large yellow and white stripes bearing the GSE branding unmistakably signal this is the new hot hatch. The stripes are arranged to evoke a sporty checkered pattern, complemented by white and yellow double-dotted lines that resemble neatly stitched seams.Opel enthusiasts will find this familiar. The sport seats in the first Corsa GSi model, launched in the late 1980s, already featured a distinctive striped pattern. The yellow and white stripes on the new Corsa GSE’s body, angled differently from one another, are clearly inspired by the checkered seat upholstery pattern associated with the first-generation Corsa SR and Corsa GT models of this popular compact car.Opel will soon reveal which design details will make the new high-performance model even more striking. Visitors to this year’s Paris Motor Show, running from October 12 to 18, can look forward to seeing the Opel Corsa GSE, as the hot hatch will be publicly unveiled at the event in the French capital.
