Cadillac on the track The shakedown in Barcelona is representing a very particular period for the Formula 1 teams, for the first time on the track this year with single-seaters that comply with the new technical regulations introduced for the 2026 championship. Among the teams present there is Cadillac, which unlike its competitors is experiencing a unique moment in its history: the US team is in fact making its debut in F1, and represents the eleventh team present on the starting grid. Everything ready in one year A debut which, until last year, was still in strong doubt, at least until the definitive green light which allowed the team to get to work in time to enter the circus starting from this season. Now, with the first laps on the Barcelona circuit, the Ferrari-powered car has encountered some problems with Valtteri Bottas and Sergio Perez, both returning after spending 2025 away from the role of official drivers. The emotion of the first laps Difficulties which, however, do not represent an alarm bell for Team Principal Graeme Lowdon, who considered these aspects completely natural for a newborn team. The presence in Spain and more generally in F1, on the contrary, is a source of great pride for Cadillac: “Yes, it’s a big step, and it’s okay to give ourselves some time to feel the emotion – he commented to F1TV – I think the predominant feeling is that everything is proceeding as usual, like a real Formula 1 team, and we are committing ourselves to the same job as everyone else. I’m very lucky to find myself in a situation where I can work with so many very talented people, both here in track, at Silverstone, at Indianapolis and also at Charlotte. It’s a good feeling knowing that we’re on the right track now.”
