Dreame introduced a concept electric car with rockets that accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 0.9 seconds. World record? Meet the Nebula NEXT 01 Jet Edition.
Chinese device company Dreame introduced its electric concept car called Nebula NEXT 01 Jet Edition, which accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 0.9 seconds. If approved, this would be an absolute record for a production vehicle. The most notable thing is not only the powerful electric powertrain, but also the inclusion of rocket boosters. According to the developer, the system uses two solid-fuel thrusters, each with approximately 100 kN of thrust and activating in 150 milliseconds. This aims to overcome the main limitation of modern electric vehicles: tire traction. Jet Edition is based on the previously introduced Nebula 1 with 1,876 horsepower. The car also includes LiDAR and autonomous driving systems; this is an unusual combination considering its focus on extreme acceleration. DreameProje raises serious questions. Solid fuel thrusters cannot be easily sealed and reusing them requires replacement. Moreover, using rocket fuel seems to contradict the concept of green transportation. Still, Dreame says it plans to start production in 2027 and has even built a factory in Europe. With the rapid growth of China’s automotive industry, these aspirations no longer seem so distant. This concept serves to demonstrate capabilities and attract attention rather than a real production car. But this clearly reveals a trend: Competition in the electrical segment is going beyond traditional engineering and turning into a race of technologies and ideas.
