Discover Honda’s Prelude Spice Pork Curry, a limited-edition dish inspired by automotive technology and Japanese corporate culture. Available only in Japan, it features customizable spice modes like GT and Sport.
Honda has introduced an unusual limited-edition product: Prelude Spice Pork Curry, created to celebrate the success of the Prelude model in Japan. This novelty is part of the company’s corporate culture, where curry has been served to employees every Friday for over 70 years. The dish was developed in collaboration with curry researcher Ichijo Monko. Before the launch, Honda opened a temporary café in the Shibuya district, then released the finished product. A package weighing about 200 grams costs 1,200 yen, roughly $7.50.The curry’s standout feature is its concept, inspired by automotive technology. Specifically, the spice system references the S+ Shift mode used in the Prelude. Buyers can combine spices to create variations like “GT Mode,” “GT x S+ Shift Mode,” or “SPORT x Honda S+ Shift Mode,” as well as a milder “Comfort” mode. The product is only available in Japan and will be produced for a limited time, though Honda has not specified the sales duration. Despite the unconventional format, this project highlights manufacturers’ interest in creative marketing solutions. Such initiatives help shape brand identity, especially amid growing interest in new 2026 vehicles and expanding global model lineups.
