Dacia, four new electric cars by 2030

Dacia has announced a plan to expand its electric offering and strengthen the brand’s growth by 2030. Four new fully electric vehicles will be added to the range, alongside the already well-known Spring. Among these stands out an economical city car, developed in just 16 months on the basis of the Renault Twingo and built on the AmpR Small platform of the Renault Group. The model should be fitted with a 27.5 kWh battery with an indicative range of just over 257 km and will have a starting price of less than 18,000 euros. Four new Dacia electrics arriving In parallel with the city car, Dacia will present a new generation of the Sandero which will adopt the CMF-B platform, capable of hosting multiple propulsion systems, therefore thermal, hybrid and electric. This car will continue to be positioned as a point of reference for value for money in its segment, maintaining its historic role as a low-cost model. The electric version of the Sandero is also expected within the next four years, together with two other electric models not yet detailed. The Striker, a station wagon similar to the new Bigster but with a recently announced hybrid propulsion, will be part of the same wave of launches aimed at completing the offer. Multi-energy future This product plan is part of a broader strategy made of design-to-cost, shared platforms and a streamlined distribution network. According to Dacia itself, this plan will give the company a cost advantage of 15% over its competitors. The objective is not only to expand the share of hybrid vehicles (today around a quarter of sales) to two thirds, but also to strengthen the presence in the C segment thanks to the Striker and the Bigster, and increase customer loyalty: currently over 70% of owners return to the brand, while a further 10% switch to Renault.
