Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech (HMMC) recently produced its 5 millionth vehicle. This milestone underlines the Nošovice plant’s strong position within European automotive production, its technological maturity and long-term stability.
The 5 millionth vehicle to come off the lines was the Hyundai TUCSON Hybrid, and was received directly from the factory by a Czech user. The owner of this special vehicle followed the production process on the assembly line to the final stage and had the opportunity to personally participate in processes such as steering assembly and placement of the Hyundai logo. The lucky user received a symbolic key delivery from Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech and Hyundai Motor Czech management after production was completed.
Czech Republic, TUCSON and i30 Form the Backbone of Production
Hyundai TUCSON has been the main model of Nošovice production for many years. While the third generation TUCSON produced between 2015 and 2020 exceeded 1.1 million units, the production of the current generation will further exceed this figure. These two generations account for almost half of the factory’s total production.

Hyundai i30 has been produced in the Czech Republic since 2008 and its third generation is currently being welcomed in the European market, including Türkiye. More than 1.5 million units of the model were produced, including the high-performance i30 N and N Line versions, and were exported to more than 90 countries around the world together with TUCSON. Although the majority of production is aimed at the European market, deliveries are also made to customers in the Middle East, Africa, Oceania and Latin America.
Transformation in Electrification
One of the important milestones in the factory’s history was the start of electric vehicle production in Nošovice in 2020. More than 650 thousand electric vehicles have been produced since then, including the fully electric KONA, and approximately 200 thousand of them were KONA models with different versions. This development demonstrates the factory’s gradual transformation towards sustainable mobility. KONA Electric is also the first electric vehicle mass produced in the Czech Republic.
This conversion was followed by the conversion of a production hall used for manual transmission production into a Battery System Assembly (BSA) facility operated by Hyundai Mobis. While the first part of the facility was commissioned in the autumn of 2022, full capacity operation started in August last year.
Electrification Investment in Hyundai Motor Türkiye Izmit Factory
Hyundai invested 250 million euros for the redesigned EV body base, high-voltage battery integration and power electronics in its production facility in Izmit for the IONIQ 3 model. Hyundai Motor Türkiye, which will take the IONIQ 3 model off the lines in August with the handiwork of Turkish workers, will contribute to the country’s economy and automotive industry by exporting a large part of the production to more than 40 countries. In addition, Hyundai Motor Türkiye Izmit factory, which will be the first production center of the IONIQ model family in Europe, is the only factory in Europe with the E-GMP platform. With this production, Hyundai will produce the second domestic electric model in Türkiye and will continue to expand by making additional investments in both the Czech Republic and Izmit factories in the coming years.
