Max’s plans In the long interview given to the Swiss Blick, Max Verstappen set some goals regarding his future on the track: “After more than 230 grands prix, my goal is certainly not to chase seven world titles. For me there is nothing more important than family and children”.
The four-time world champion spoke about his experience with the Ferrari GT3 on the Nurburgring Nordschleife (where he hinted that he wanted to do the 24 Hours in 2026): “I love this type of challenge. At a certain point, Formula 1 will no longer be a topic for me, but the other categories will. Even MotoGP could excite me.”
And to keep in training, Max uses the simulator: “I have one at home in Munich, but soon they will increase. But I won’t put it in the bedroom, it would be a problem!”. Verstappen sinks the Sprints From Verstappen’s words, a certain tiredness from the many trips appears: “For years I have faced around 24 races a season and the 6 Sprints do not fill me with joy. Most of the Sprints are boring, but what is worse is that they interrupt the normal program of the real race, the Sunday one. And what’s more, they generate stress on the mechanics”. How long will he run? To journalist Roger Benoit, Verstappen assured: “I am now 28 years old and I have a contract with Red Bull until 2028 which I intend to respect. I am ruling out changing teams at the moment, even if no longer having my friend Helmut Marko by my side is a shame.” Max finally reiterated an old strong point of his: “At 40 you can bet that I won’t be on the track anymore. Maybe I’ll still be around the pits, but as a team manager in another championship.”
Verstappen: “I’m not aiming for 7 world championships, at 40 I won’t race anymore”
