Mercedes-Benz has revealed the first official teaser of its upcoming all-electric C-Class, a model that will debut in 2026 as part of the brand’s expanding EQ lineup. Shown at the Munich Motor Show alongside the new GLC EQ, the sedan will be one of the first to ride on the company’s dedicated MB.EA electric platform.
The teaser image highlights a bold new look, led by Mercedes’ “Iconic Grille” design. Unlike the GLC EQ, the C-Class features four illuminated slats, each backlit by hundreds of LEDs, along with the brand’s signature star-pattern daytime running lights.
Proportions remain close to the combustion-powered C-Class, but aerodynamic tweaks help deliver a claimed 497 miles (800 kilometres) of range—This figure should be taken with a pinch of salt, as it is based on lab testing rather than real-world driving conditions. Currently, EVs achieve around 80 per cent of their claimed range, so a more realistic estimate would be about 397 miles.
Underneath, the sedan is expected to share much with its SUV sibling, including a 94 kWh NMC battery, an 800-volt system, and 330 kW DC fast charging that allows rapid top-ups comparable to leading EVs from Tesla, Porsche, and Hyundai. Multiple powertrain options are expected, with outputs likely reaching around 483 horsepower, and both rear- and all-wheel-drive variants will be offered.
Inside, Mercedes is promising its latest generation of digital technology. The C-Class EQ could feature either the sweeping 39.1-inch MBUX Hyperscreen from the GLC EQ or the more compact Superscreen setup introduced in the CLA, paired with AI-driven assistance and over-the-air updates.
When it arrives in the first half of 2026, the C-Class EQ will take on rivals such as the BMW i3, Audi A4 e-tron, Tesla Model 3, and Polestar 2. The launch underscores Mercedes’ strategy to electrify its core nameplates, bringing one of its most iconic models into the EV era.
