Kia has expanded its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) line-up with the introduction of the PV5 Crew, a new flexible conversion designed for mixed passenger and cargo transport. Based on the PV5 Cargo L2/H1, the Crew enables rapid tool‑free transitions between crew and cargo layouts.
Crew. Cargo. All the above.
The PV5 Crew forms part of Kia’s ‘Made In Plant’ (MIP) conversion strategy, in which the vehicle’s conversion is built directly in the Kia factory. Developed in collaboration with conversion partners, this approach delivers factory‑integrated solutions with higher levels of customisation. It is designed for businesses that require adaptable vehicle layouts across changing daily tasks.

A one-touch seat lever system allows operators to switch from a two-seat cargo configuration to a five-seat crew layout in seconds: a single lever switch releases the recliner, tips the cushion, and slides the partition. The mechanism requires neither tools nor downtime.
The interior integrates an L-track mounting system for securing cargo and add-ons. This supports diverse operational needs in sectors such as construction, maintenance and repair, landscaping, and airport services. Additional features include easy-to-access Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) outlets in the cargo area and a durable, non-slip floor, for safer loading and unloading.
Delivered as a factory‑integrated, one‑stop solution within Kia’s flexible conversion programme, the PV5 Crew is complemented by market‑specific local conversion offerings. These enable PV5 Cargo to be reconfigured into PV5 Crew, from additional fixed crew layouts to adaptations of existing vehicles.
“Expanding Kia’s PBV range with the PV5 Crew demonstrates our commitment to delivering practical, adaptable solutions for European customers,” said Erhan Eren, PBV Director at Kia Europe. “Many operators require vehicles that can support crew and cargo within the same working cycle. The PV5 Crew addresses this directly through a configurable interior system that enables fast transitions without slowing down daily operations.”
Built on a strong foundation
The PV5 Crew builds on the proven engineering of the PV5 Cargo L2/H1, winner of ‘2026 International Van of the Year’ (IVOTY) and based on Kia’s E-GMP.S (Electric-Global Modular for Service). This architecture supports long term durability, modularity, and advanced connectivity, including seamless integration with fleet management systems.
The vehicle offers a flexible cargo area ranging from 1,278mm (in five-seat mode) to 1,965mm (in two-seat mode). Cargo volume expands from 2.4m³ to 3.7m³, depending on the configuration
The PV5 Crew is equipped with a 51.5kWh battery delivering up to 283km of estimated all-electric range (WLTP, pending homologation). The maximum payload is targeted at 625kg.
The start of production of the PV5 Crew is planned for 30 April 2026. Market availability will be announced in due course.
