Second place on the grid confirmed
One was hoped for fine for the team and nothing more and Andrea Kimi Antonelli was satisfied: his front row in tomorrow’s Australian GP is safe. The Mercedes Italian did not receive any ‘personal’ penalties for driving with one single-seater in unsafe conditions during the start of Q3, when he went down onto the track with the blowers still attached to both sides, later losing them on the track and also causing a danger for Lando Norris’ car, which hit one directly, disintegrating it into a thousand pieces.

Mercedes fined
The commissioners, as has already happened in the past in similar situations, did not hold the pilot responsible for this irregularity and have the Brackley team was punished with a fine – 7500 Euros. The front row is therefore confirmed to be entirely silver colored, with George Russell in pole position and the Italian at his side. The impression is that – given the gap that emerged today in qualifying – it is very unlikely that anyone else will be able to enter the direct comparison between the two Mercedes in tomorrow’s race.
