From the first details that Ferrari is showing to its fans through social media, the SF-26 would appear brighter and more brilliant than the dull – inside and out – SF-25.
A bright red that harks back to those of Schumacher’s golden era and which will probably also have more touches of white than in the recent past.
A more modern color, which evokes technology more than passion, more rationality than the heart.
But it is the red that will transmit to its fans what will establish its beauty in the memory. Brilliant results would turn red into bright, fast, sparkling. Likewise, disappointing results would make him cold, detached, impersonal.
There are those who last year experienced the deep red, a beautiful horror film, the Ferrari dream transformed into a nightmare lasting 24 grands prix without podiums, namely Lewis Hamilton. And there is someone who has a scarlet red soul, Charles Leclerc. Never like in 2026, balanced between love and passion for the iconic Cavallino and the vermilion red of anger for the many promises never kept. Which could push him elsewhere, towards other colors, towards other faces, towards another story.
Then there is the bright red of anger, that of the fists pounded on the table by Ferrari towards the FIA for the engine affair, which flared up even before these blessed power units were turned on. And which risks crippling global ambitions from the start.
The hope is that the red does not become dark with embarrassment. Once again. Or even worse, which reflects Fantozzi’s tone scale in the second episode of the successful saga, after ingesting a whole thrush: “Red, Pompeian red, lobster orange, purple, funeral decoration purple, dark blue. On dark blue, Fantozzi went into a cardiorespiratory coma”.
