Adami changes role The paths of Riccardo Adami and Lewis Hamilton separate after just one year of collaboration. In these minutes, Ferrari has formalized the change of role of the engineer from Brescia, who had landed in red in 2015 with the role of track engineer and had already worked with Sebastian Vettel and Carlos Sainz. Since his first day in red, Hamilton had been joined by the 52-year-old former Toro Rosso track engineer, with whom, however, several communication difficulties had emerged quite clearly – which also resulted in some radio teams remaining ‘famous’ – which did not seem to have improved over the course of the season, on the contrary. Less than a month ago, team principal Fred Vasseur said he was ready to “evaluate all options” regarding Adami’s future and his role in relation to the seven-time world champion. Evidently in the end the desire to change faces around Hamilton prevailed to try to get the best out of the British champion in the 2026 season after a rather negative debut year in Ferrari. The official Scuderia Ferrari HP press release announces that Riccardo Adami has taken on a new role within the Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy as Scuderia Ferrari Driver Academy and Test Previous Cars Manager, where he will make his extensive on-track experience and expertise in Formula 1 available to support the development of future talent and strengthen the performance culture within the program. Scuderia Ferrari HP would like to thank Riccardo for his commitment and contribution in his role on the track and wishes him every success in his new position. The appointment of the new Race Engineer of car #44 will be communicated in due course.
Official, Adami will no longer be Lewis Hamilton’s track engineer
